Foster Care Services

Therapeutic & Family Foster Care

We believe each child should have the opportunity to remain in the community for treatment when possible. Turning Point Family Services offers Therapeutic Foster Care services. This program is a residential child placement service provided in the home of a licensed, state-approved family.

Our homes receive specialized, intensive training to be able to work with children and adolescents with mental health and behavioral needs. Trained, Qualified Professionals directly coordinate treatment for the child and provide support to the family including linking with services, treatment planning and development, coordinating transitions and discharge planning. The child’s family is encouraged to be involved with treatment, as appropriate, allowing for an easier transition home.

Intensive Alternative Family Treatments (IAFT)

When therapeutic foster care no longer meets the needs of the child due to excessive behavioral or mental health concerns, Turning Point Family Services offers Intensive Alternative Family Treatment (IAFT) as an option for residential services. IAFT services are provided once a week in the home. Only one child may be in the home due to the intensity of the program.

Supervision is provided and services are coordinated by trained, qualified professionals. The agency’s Medical Director provides psychiatric oversight of this program. This level of service offers a more intense, community-based residential option to those children and adolescents in need of out-of-home placement.
